Week 96

Angay Hugot jud ang pagtuo naton

Okay now I'm write the real email.

What a great week, we worked so hard. I was completely drained last night. We are talking to so many people and it was great! We achieved many of our Goals! I love Elder Vidal. He's such a funny guy. But he is humble and wants to work hard. We did a service project at Brother Jim's house on tuesday! He from a little island in Scotland, called Shirtlin I think, but is a really awesome person. We were helping him on his pig farm this week and he pick picked us up at 10 am and I guess he thought it was a whole day service. And I thought 2 hours, just miscommunication, but we ended up working from 10am to 5pm. Haha, it was hard work but it was awesome. I would have tried to go back earlier but his truck was the only ride and then around 1 pm or so someone took the truck because they were gonna butcher one of the pigs.

So there we were, alone with Brother Jim in the middle of the jungle at his pig farm. What a great expirence. We shoveled gravel until I couldn't do one more scoop and then we did more. Some lady stopped by and gave each of us a 1 liter coke and each 11 packs of crackers. So we were fine. We then worked after we got back.

This week we've been doing great. No one here really cares though which is sad, so we are trying our best to follow Christ and the promptings of the spirit, and trying our best to teach others.

We did some more service this past Saturday and we mass cooked a bunch of talapia fish on a piece of an old tin roof. It was good.

I love how through Christ's atonement and grace we are able to improve and and change. It says in Helaman 15:20
"And now, because of their steadfastness when they do believe in that thing which they do believe, for because of their firmness when they are once enlightened, behold, the Lord shall bless them and prolong their days, notwithstanding their iniquity."

Even though they had many sins in the past and even though they would sin in the future, being imperfect people, God blessed them because of their change of heart, their desire to sin was gone, and they had their belief in Christ. Through their steadfastness even though they were imperfect they were able to be blessed and have joy "Notwithstanding their iniquity." Christ's atonement makes up for our shortcomings.
