Week 97
Ayos lang ko, caso lang, medyo masakit ang katawhan ko.
Kay nabaskit mi sa umaga
Hi there! It's me Elder Robertson here again. We played a lot of basketball earlier with some of our friends for about 2 hours! I wish I listened to my track Coach Mathias about stretching. I can definitely count on one hand how many times I've stretched these past 2 years, and now I'm sore everywhere haha! I have a goal now to stretch once a week. If I can remember and if that even makes a difference.
We ate with the other Elders, we all bought sisig, (the pig face that you chop up and sizzle in a pan). I will cook this when I get home for anyone that wants!
We did so much this week that I can barely remember it all. But it was awesome. We achieved our goals. Which saying that outloud makes this missionary work sound like some business. Well it's the business of God. He is working time and I am so glad that I can be here working along side the Lord in this full time service.
We helped someone on their farm dig holes to put posts for a foundation, with our Hands! Well, with my hands at least. My companion Elder Vidal did the breaking up the ground part. We woke up at 4 in the morning help him out. Then the ZLs said we shouldn't do that, which sounded pretty valid seeing that we almost fell alseep at lunch time. But We Didnt! We kept going! And the Lord has blessed us with bigger hearts. And brighter minds, and a willing attitude. Seeing no fruits from our own hands we are blessed to be in this position to only trust in the Lord, seeing there is no where else to turn besides Him.
All said, it's been hard, but the rewards are great. Elder Vidal and I are becoming more than we could have imagined if left to ourselves.
Now going back to what I said earlier about the business approach. Not that it is a businesses approach, more on just that if Joseph Smith saw what he said he saw, and if the Book of Mormon are the words of Jesus Christ through His ancient prophets in ancient America, and if this Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church, then this work, missionary work, bringing others to Christ, is the most important thing that anyone could ever be participating in! Why is this the most extensive missionary project? Why are we doing everything in our power to improve and increase our effectiveness of this work? Because it is the Work of Jesus Christ. And as it says, this should be our finest work, nothing but the best for the Lord.
Then we see on the otherhand, why is this church the most despised of the world, why is there so much confusion and slander against it? There is almost a physical cloud of darkness around it, but, "ye shall know them by their works". I know this is true because I have tried for myself, and my life changed. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of all. I have literally felt my sadness from sin turn to Joy! Hope in Christ.
And if nothing else, would not just the knowledge or belief, faith, and hope that our Families can literally be with each other for an eternity already be enough for me to give everything and all my effort for? I love God; second, I love my Family. And God Loves us so much, would he provide a way for us to return to him? Yes! Does he want us to wander and be lost? No!
I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and His Atonement for us. I hope the reality of Him and His sacrifice will sink deeper into our hearts every day!
