Elder Cal Robertson's Mission

Sploosh (the not good kind) Morningg peeps. Hope yaallr doin' good. This week has been good. I finally went down the bawal (not allowed) road. Every time we should go down that road, we don't cuz there something not good down there. That's what my comp would always tell me just emphasize to me to never go down and if I do I'll regret it. Anyways he went to Manila this week for visa stuff, and of course I had to plan a person to visit in that direction so I could walk down the road. That day my plans changed and I actually walked down it on the way back home at night, so I was on edge the whole time. But I didn't really see anything so I asked the other zone leader here, Elder Castañeta, and he was like, ohh cuz u went at night, and he told me there's a fat lady that sits outside all day and curses people, especially missionaries, if they walk by. She speaks in a weird language and screams at you as she waving her fingers at you. Didn't catch a rat this week....

Sakit :( exep me Morning people! This week was way different, mostly cuz everyone got sick. Sorry it's late too and so not much work happened which was depressing.  For zone council meeting we had sisters bring some rice as part of the meal that everyone chipped into but the rice they brought was rotten, no one noticed somehow and a ton of people were eating it. Hilarious, the next day my comp and both zone leaders were sick. And half the zone called them saying how they were sick too. Anyways eventually we got to go work by Friday.  And Saturday we had a baptism of Brother Nash, cool kid. Then Sunday we got to eat at a members house so that was fun. And the next day we got a pday.  One of the days we visited this kid and when we pulled up to his balay (house thing) we saw him standing outside with his dog in a headlock. Giving this kid is like 5 years old, somehow the dog couldn't do anything about it. Then proceeded to yank up the dogs head and then started pounding its...

Guys! Caught another rat! Prob the most fun I had trying to catch a rat. We named him Remi.  For pday we played some games and bought groceries. At night we cooked and made a bunch of food for the Zone council meeting Tuesday. We were making jalepeno popper things too, but out of different peppers we found in the market. Elder Fruean, my comp, was cutting the peppers open and afterwards his hands started burning and eventually his face and stomach, basically everything. And then was sitting with his hands in the freezers for an hour, and a fan on his face, couldn't really help him, which was sad. So that's the last I remember before going ta bed. This week we did exchanges and I got to go with Elder Phillips. We traveled far in the morning to the sisters area to do 2 different baptismal interviews. I was supposed to give them both but then noticed right away both were 75+ and only knew deep Bisaya. Payita. Couldn't understand 'em. But luckily Elder Phillips is the Zone ...

U Hello again everybody! Sorry this email is late but a lot has happened. I got to my new area on Thursday and felt like I got to a new mission, different scenery, different language, different people. It's definitely been hard having to restart learning the language, Cebuano J. But the Waray Waray I do know has been helpful. It was kinda a rough getting here and working cuz my comp also has only been here in the mission a month more than me and said he didn't know the language that well. So I was giving most the lessons the first couple days in broken Waray-H, Cebuano J, Tagolog, and English. But just yesterday my comp started opening up a lot and he actually knows a lot of the language, and even led a couple of lessons. So proud of him:)  I was also kinda stressed on leading a district 2 times bigger than my last one. But after leading our district council meeting and talking to them, it should be good. Luv Hello. Happy new year. This day was good. I had fun. I am transferring. To Sogood zone! Hopefully it'll live up to its name.  Rn im jus chillin here in Tacloban. So yeah, jus havin' a good time here in the phils.  We had 2 meal appointments in a row. I almost exploded. I also rode in a truck so that was fun. I also need some new shoes. Said bye to Sister Ug's today from our district cuz she's going home. And also to the rest of my district cuz I'm leaving anyways. C'ya guys next year!
