Week 28

Sploosh (the not good kind)

Morningg peeps. Hope yaallr doin' good. This week has been good. I finally went down the bawal (not allowed) road. Every time we should go down that road, we don't cuz there something not good down there. That's what my comp would always tell me just emphasize to me to never go down and if I do I'll regret it. Anyways he went to Manila this week for visa stuff, and of course I had to plan a person to visit in that direction so I could walk down the road. That day my plans changed and I actually walked down it on the way back home at night, so I was on edge the whole time. But I didn't really see anything so I asked the other zone leader here, Elder CastaƱeta, and he was like, ohh cuz u went at night, and he told me there's a fat lady that sits outside all day and curses people, especially missionaries, if they walk by. She speaks in a weird language and screams at you as she waving her fingers at you.

Didn't catch a rat this week. And also heard my old comp, Elder Parker, from my last area in Tacloban fell into the sewage. We would always walk across the broken sidewalks with massive pieces missing from it and there's sewage under the sidewalks. Which is also why it's gross when it rains downtown cuz the sewage comes out of the ground onto the streets. But it was apparently night, and he fell in and was completely submerged...scary stuff. Anyways he was able to pull himself out and went back, took a shower, and treated his scrape on his arm. He also got some in his mouth. :(  After hearing that story from Elder Phillips (who was there cuz he went to Manila too--they stopped by my last area) I prayed that night for him. That's like worst nightmare type of thing. Gives me the himmy jimmys.

Anyways it's been a good week. Kinda unproductive cuz my comp hasn't worked with me for almost a week now cuz he went to Manila for his visa. We might go fishing today too. We made a fishing thingy to fish with the help of the EQ pres. He helped us cut some PVC pipe we found.

Also something I've been thinking about in my study is faith cuz I'm in Moroni now and almost finished reading through. And if you read Moroni, he talks about faith a lot. I talked about it in my last email too. But just that if you have faith, especially in prayer, it means you are willing to act on the answer you get. Or you are willing to do what the Lord asks you to do no matter what it is. And I found too that it's with guidance. I like to teach people about how we can be guided in this gospel with anything in our lives. And it brings the question, do you really want to be guided? Because that means like what happened to Nephi: they got to the land Bountiful and then the Lord tells them to leave that place again after traveling in the wilderness for 8 years before that. So are you willing to live outside your comfort and do what Christ has repeatedly asked us to do everyday? Because He will then guide us to an even better promised land--everlasting life and happiness if we truly want to be guided, if we truly love God and have unwavering faith in Him.

Just like my man Nephi. So ya, cya y'all next time⏲️ . :)
