Good morning America! And wherever else you guys might be. Merry Christmas liwat! This is my second Christmas here. My family isn't here; no time to relax and no snow. Almost everything is different...but I wouldn't trade this time here for anything else.
And this is what I would like to talk about, Christmas time. Even though it's the topic of everything right now. But it might be a little different than what you're used to because I want to talk about a gift this Christmas called the gift of Reality that President Martinez talked about to us. When we think about Christmas we can easily get trapped into thinking about some fairytale dreamland sort of thing. But the Reality is even better. The Reality that We have a father in heaven, That He sent His Son Jesus Christ to be born on earth as our Messiah. As Nephi says in The Book of Mormon in 1 Nephi 11:22:
22 And I answered him, saying: Yea, it is the love of God, which sheddeth itself abroad in the hearts of the children of men; wherefore, it is the most desirable above all things.
The Reality that it is all about the Love of God.
Also this .. Hymn 335:
Brightly beams our Father’s mercy
From his lighthouse evermore
But to us he gives the keeping
Of the lights along the shore.
Let the lower lights be burning;
Send a gleam across the wave.
Some poor fainting, struggling seaman
You may rescue, you may save.
The Reality that God uses His children to spread His Love abroad to each and every single person on Earth.
And then this.. Mosiah 26:
18 Yea, blessed is this people who are willing to bear my name; for in my name shall they be called; and they are mine. ...
24 For behold, in my name are they called; and if they know me they shall come forth, and shall have a place eternally at my right hand.
The Reality and Witness from the Holy Scriptures is that God calls His children. We need to come forth and show God's love to all, and by doing so we witness to God we Do KNOW Him. And are then promised Eternal Life with God. It is hard to think about how great God's love is for us... but Don't THINK. Go and experience for yourselves God's love and all the amazing gifts He has in store for you and for those around you.
But for this week itself, it's been great! We went on exchanges and saw many miracles! And then we went to Christmas Conference [with the other missionaries]! The morning we traveled, the 1st counselor of the District Presidency, President Coquilla, picked us up at 5 am in the morning to get us Jollibee (McDonald's but not). It was good. Then we came back Saturday, worked. Then Sunday we got to attend Church! We had an interested friend come to Church! And we set a baptismal date with another! We are excited about what more we can do to invite the people here to come to Christ! Send a message for any ideas!
Also we caught some spiders, then we made a spider farm in our back laundry room. I think it'll be a good investment because there's so many mosquitos...
Pero isa pa. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I'm praying for you all and hope the best for you guys. Kitakits!
