Week 70

Akong mga kapatid

Hello family! and friends, how are yall! 

This week we got to go on exchanges and see miracles! As the Song states, "let the Holy Spirit Guide". As we do all of the things that are needed to have the spirit with us, He Will Guide Us. Sometimes we think a voice telling us what to do to, be kept in the way, but D&C 58:26 suggests otherwise. But if we think of a Guide-a normal guide-it is someone that shows us the way, a light house. By action, example, only sometimes with words when the time is right. But for the most part that is another reason why we've been given prophets and scriptures, that we might be led by example. 

With how many stories and words of God are there to read that he may even tell us directly the way to go. So just a guide showing the way, the scriptures and words of prophets tell us and show us the way that we might chose to follow. As we do all we can to follow Jesus Christ, Especially First through study and prayer, we will be guided. Even without a constant burning desire in our heart, even without a verbal 24/7 director. Will be guided. As Elder Bednar said, be a good boy, be a good girl, and stop worrying about it. The Holy Spirit will guide us. Sometimes we wont even know until after the fact. But we can know if we know what we're doing is right. 

During exchanges we found someone that we visited later that week which we then committed to come to church. She came! Then yesterday we taught a brother who also came to church and during the lesson we barely got through the first principles of the first lesson because of the spirit telling us he was ready. He testified that he felt the spirit and that he believed in the Church Of Jesus Christ, that it is the true church. Many more blessings and miracles as well. 

I am so happy to be a missionary here and be an instrument for the Lord that I am able to witness conversion, in myself and more many amazing people here. 

Remember the Lord notices all our efforts to do good. So do them all😎

Ayos lang ko, caso lang, medyo masakit ang katawhan ko.  Kay nabaskit mi sa umaga   Hi there! It's me Elder Robertson here again. We played a lot of basketball earlier with some of our friends for about 2 hours! I wish I listened to my track Coach Mathias about stretching. I can definitely count on one hand how many times I've stretched these past 2 years, and now I'm sore everywhere haha! I have a goal now to stretch once a week. If I can remember and if that even makes a difference.  We ate with the other Elders, we all bought sisig, (the pig face that you chop up and sizzle in a pan). I will cook this when I get home for anyone that wants!  We did so much this week that I can barely remember it all. But it was awesome. We achieved our goals. Which saying that outloud makes this missionary work sound like some business. Well it's the business of God. He is working time and I am so glad that I can be here working along side the Lord in this full time service.  ...

Week 99

Ang huling email ko, tapos na ang misyon ko duon sa filipinas, pero hindi pa sa aking buhay. Hello everyone! This one is a little late because I didn't have a phone Monday. This one will be my last week writing or second to last. I am Home! Already released as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On Sunday President and Sister Martinez came to our branch and I gave a last talk. They took us to Tacloban afterwards. Then I worked in Tacloban the rest of the day.  We did departing activities Monday then Tuesday we left to Manila. We were able to meet up with a past companion in Manila, Elder Valencia, or brother, and eat out with him in the Mall of Asia. Then Wednesday morning we woke up at 3:30 am and left to the airport and flew out to San Francisco, 13 hours, then after arriving in the US we had a 4 hour layover and said goodbye to all my batchmates, then another 5 ½ hours to Dulles Washington DC, then I saw my family!  I felt so sick and...

Week 92

Election day para sa mga candidato! Kinsa modaog? Ambot.   Hi family! And friends! I am stuck in the house right now. It's election day and to be safe we aren't allowed to leave the apartment. I've scrubbed my clothes and they are soaking now, I'll hang them to dry soon. I took a refreshing bucket shower this morning and then we ate some pancakes which I made. We had a meeting earlier about helping members and being diligent! I got a little video clip that hopefully you can watch about Joseph smith, "this should be our finest work.. nothing but the best for the Lord". I often wonder what I can do more or how I can increase my capacity to help others. One way I found is in Mosiah 2-4...all of his sermon is to teach people to do one thing.. "..that is, for the sake of retaining a remission of your sins from day to day, that ye may walk guiltless before God.." [Mosiah 4:26].
