Week 56
Hey Jo, naa moy sensillo? Kay ubos na ang kwarta ko
Hi fam, it's Elder Robertson here with another email. This week we went on exchanges and we went to the richest subdivision and knocked doors, or rather yelled at the top of our lungs, Ayoooooooo! There's gates and places for doorbells but it looks like they were ripped off by the owners so no one disturbs them I guess. But we handed out 4 pamphlets there, and 2 of the people we got to share about God and Families and the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And one of those 2 people was the Guard. Turns out he used to go to church with the missionaries before the pandemic...even was going to get baptized. But of course, Covid happened. Sayung lagi. Pero we'll help him build his faith again in Christ:)))
I have felt Great joy this week while we've been working. I would think to myself, why am I so happy? What happened to make me so happy? But then I realized as they all say, "it's not what happened, it's what you're doing." Quote me hahaha. Pero bitaw nga the happiness we feel has nothing to do with the things in our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives, said by President Nelson, kana siguro. I can testify that as the focus of our lives is the Savior we will feel His joy and love, even love and joy that lasts forever. The Focus of our lives means it's influencing all our choices and thoughts.
Working here has helped me see the blessings and grace of God in my everyday life. And also I ate seaweed for breakfast this week, and also more kinilaw. Sister Lapinid was able to be baptized yesterday! Her and her husband are now members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and will hopefully soon go to the temple, the Ultimate Goal! When they're ready of course, to be together forever:)))!
We played volleyball and got to hang out with all the other joes here. It's funny cuz 3 Elders here in our district are batch mates (they were in the same group at the Missionary Training Center--aka MTC) and all 3 are going home in a couple weeks haha, kitakits mga tao! Amping pirmee!
Companions again with my MTC Companion:))) Elder Steadman
