Week 47

Being responsible is a good thing

Hello everybody, maopay na kulop. This week we got to go to Tacloban for a mission tour because Elder Choi of the Seventy came to visit. It was cool to get some instruction from him and learn some new things.

We went to a fireside after with this other stake nearby and Elder Choi asked the members who is the most handsome Elder (we were all on the stands in the front) and some young man picked someone. Then he asked the members who is the most beautiful sister. Then of course, a little girl stood up and said the second one on the right. Hold up, wait a minute, I was the second on the right... Everyone thought it was hilarious, and Elder Choi still had me stand up haha. Then he asked the little girl why she thought I was the handsomest or prettiest or whatever I am, and she said quote, "because he's white". Dang. Personality, appearance, my smile, in the trashcan.

Also some of my favorite people are going home this cycle which is really sad, and transferring. For one Elder Phillips and Elder Bosley and Elder Westover are going home. My favorite elders in the mission. They've been a big help to me through my mission and I hope I will be able to carry on the spirit of them here, and most importantly keep carrying the spirit of the Lord which is what they sought. And you could really tell as well. I'm very grateful for their examples.

We also got the transfer board and my companion Elder Augiton is leaving. I'm excited for the responsibilities I've been given; something I've seen as a blessing. I'll be training a new zone leader and staying as a zone leader. If we make it one through Jesus Christ and follow His plan this is something that can help us grow way faster than anything else could. Seek opportunities to take responsibility, ask what more can you do, and whatever that thing is our Lord is marching on with you. Yes there's many problems, many ways, even a temptation of how there are many people that are better to do the job instead of you. But the question is, what are you going to do about it. Boooom barsss. Just like you are what you eat.

So I'm trying to eat up all this responsibility, Christlike attributes, some scriptures, and love from God. So I might grow and become a better instrument of the Lord. Everybody, just keep eating. Everything that is virtuous, lovely, or praiseworthy as Paul taught in the Bible. Love you guys and hope you have a good day and every day through building the Kingdom of God!
