Week 37

Elder Robertson's new companion that he is training is Elder Dablo. Elder Dablo is from the Philippines and can speak Cebuano. He doesn't speak much English so Elder Robertson is really learning Cebuano which is awesome

Elder Robertson said training was weird (in their mission you get training for a day or so before you get your new companion) because it was just him and 8 sisters. Only one Elder arrived this transfer. Elder Robertson wrote down things that he liked about his training and things he didn't like. He never had companionship study with his trainer. He said "we're doing that now" with his new companion. He's still a little worried about messing up as a trainer. But is hopeful with just trying his best everyday and that's what counts.

Two friends came to church Sunday which was really nice. Sounds like they have a couple more people to start teaching.  Two different Elders share an apartment with him and Elder Dablo. One is Elder Bosley. Andrew and Maren Bosley were in Grandma and Grandpa's ward in Clayton NC. We attended that ward for the And I'm sure Elder Robertson and Elder Bosley played together that summer. It's been fun reconnecting with Maren when we found out that our boys were in the same mission.

Rose: church was good, 2 friends came
Bud: pday, teaching and finding people to teach
Thorn: couldn't think of one

Interesting fact: corn is used in desserts or sweet things in the Philippines. Picture from Elder Robertson.

Elder Robertson showed us the machete he bought. He also told us how Elder Phillips does a lengthy bargaining. Getting a machete for 1500 pesos down to 1100 by going back a few times and requesting a lower price.
