Week 17

Morninggg

This week was wild. I got to meet up with basically my whole batch from my MTC district except 1 person. And got to really meet some new missionaries as well which was awesome. We did this musical devotional that was really fun and Elder Revillo was here of the area Presidency (he's a general authority 70). To put in perspective he gave a conference talk or two in General Conference so it was really cool to meet him. He also did personal interviews with just a couple missionaries and I got to have a personal interview with him. He asked me a little about my fam and me and my mission.

On Saturday we did a chapel tour thing and sung some more songs for the interested people that came. After we left in a van loaded to the brim with missionaries, my guy (the driver) decided swing a u-turn and we crashed into another guy. We're all good tho.

On Sunday I gave my talk and it was actually really good. My hands were shakin as always when I give talks but I slapped a smile on my face I spoke to those people like a good missionary does. 

Anyways after church we went out with some YSA's (young single adults) to teach people. And eventually we passed these 2 "ladys." Anyways after we passed them one said in the most demonic creepy man voice, "good evening". I turned my head to see a ladyboy or a dude that looks like a women thing person that was giving me the most horrible smile and after that i bolted down the street, not actually but i shifted a couple gears up and put my pedal to the metal with walking yk. Anyways it was scary. Today we got to play ping pong which was super fun and had some Mcy D's which was pretty good and obviously some spinners. We are at the institute building and chilling right now. Another random thing happened last night. And sorry for my family cuz you guys already basically heard all this stuff. But ya its not a story its just an out of pocket conversation that went like this..
    Me - "Japan has so many Japanese people in it"
   Elder dick - "you know what else has alot of japenese people in it?"
   Me - "Tokyo?"
   E dick - "yup"
   
Good stuff haha. Anyways its been good overall I'm really gonna crack down on speaking waray cuz its getting really close to transfers and i really want to learn more. Hope yall r doin good and have a good week.

Ayos lang ko, caso lang, medyo masakit ang katawhan ko.  Kay nabaskit mi sa umaga   Hi there! It's me Elder Robertson here again. We played a lot of basketball earlier with some of our friends for about 2 hours! I wish I listened to my track Coach Mathias about stretching. I can definitely count on one hand how many times I've stretched these past 2 years, and now I'm sore everywhere haha! I have a goal now to stretch once a week. If I can remember and if that even makes a difference.  We ate with the other Elders, we all bought sisig, (the pig face that you chop up and sizzle in a pan). I will cook this when I get home for anyone that wants!  We did so much this week that I can barely remember it all. But it was awesome. We achieved our goals. Which saying that outloud makes this missionary work sound like some business. Well it's the business of God. He is working time and I am so glad that I can be here working along side the Lord in this full time service.  ...

Week 99

Ang huling email ko, tapos na ang misyon ko duon sa filipinas, pero hindi pa sa aking buhay. Hello everyone! This one is a little late because I didn't have a phone Monday. This one will be my last week writing or second to last. I am Home! Already released as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On Sunday President and Sister Martinez came to our branch and I gave a last talk. They took us to Tacloban afterwards. Then I worked in Tacloban the rest of the day.  We did departing activities Monday then Tuesday we left to Manila. We were able to meet up with a past companion in Manila, Elder Valencia, or brother, and eat out with him in the Mall of Asia. Then Wednesday morning we woke up at 3:30 am and left to the airport and flew out to San Francisco, 13 hours, then after arriving in the US we had a 4 hour layover and said goodbye to all my batchmates, then another 5 ½ hours to Dulles Washington DC, then I saw my family!  I felt so sick and...

Week 92

Election day para sa mga candidato! Kinsa modaog? Ambot.   Hi family! And friends! I am stuck in the house right now. It's election day and to be safe we aren't allowed to leave the apartment. I've scrubbed my clothes and they are soaking now, I'll hang them to dry soon. I took a refreshing bucket shower this morning and then we ate some pancakes which I made. We had a meeting earlier about helping members and being diligent! I got a little video clip that hopefully you can watch about Joseph smith, "this should be our finest work.. nothing but the best for the Lord". I often wonder what I can do more or how I can increase my capacity to help others. One way I found is in Mosiah 2-4...all of his sermon is to teach people to do one thing.. "..that is, for the sake of retaining a remission of your sins from day to day, that ye may walk guiltless before God.." [Mosiah 4:26].
