Week 53

Imong mga mata na anak

Helow po mga pamilya. Kamusta kamo? Adi na kami sa Munisipyo, yaon na kami damo mga buhaton dd. Pero ayaw nakaluoy sa akon kay hapit na sa Tapos! Basaylo liwat kay ditoy sa email nakon yana. AT yaon ko balita... makatransfer ako!! Magadto ak sa Ormoc, Leyte. Psylo gihap sa iba nga lengwahe yana kase nappractice ko sa akon lenggwahe para magin malisto sa mga lenguahe dd sa pilipinas! 

I think the best thing I heard this week was our Stake President saying "praise the Lord, Hallelujah!" and "buang sa imong mata" in response to my questions. Haha. Pero yan, this week has been awesome. We were able to accomplish some important things and also help 2 friends from Trojillo enter the waters of Baptism and then receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Juana Biado and Emeteria Diano:) 

Verse 5: "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." John 3:5

They're on their way! It's awesome to see their faith and progress in Trojillo. Also if you didn't get it earlier I'm gonna be transferring! All the way back down to Ormoc. It will be my 4th area and 4th language😵‍💫. Ayaw kabalaka, kaya man ak! 

I read Nephi 28 this week and read...

"...and all ... must stand before the throne of God, and be judged according to their works, from whence they must go into the place prepared for them..."  2 Nephi 28:23

If you read the actual verse, it's a little more bleak but I just got the part I wanted to share with you especially this part:

"...from whence they must go..."

I thought about how this really matches all doctrine of our choices and agency for where we'll be after this life. I think about it as we'll go to a place from where we came from, Spiritually. If we faithfully seek out Joy through Christ, Peace, and Love, even doing all we can to be with our families again in the temple. I know our Heavenly Father has prepared a place for us to abide forever in His Love, Peace, Joy, and especially with our Families. As the Living Prophet Russell M. Nelson said that God's eternal plan of Happiness completely respects our agency or ability to choose. We choose where we'll go after this life, to be with or without our families, happy or sad. Because of His great love for us. Let us all abide in Him forever! Sorry for the boring emails!😁

Ayos lang ko, caso lang, medyo masakit ang katawhan ko.  Kay nabaskit mi sa umaga   Hi there! It's me Elder Robertson here again. We played a lot of basketball earlier with some of our friends for about 2 hours! I wish I listened to my track Coach Mathias about stretching. I can definitely count on one hand how many times I've stretched these past 2 years, and now I'm sore everywhere haha! I have a goal now to stretch once a week. If I can remember and if that even makes a difference.  We ate with the other Elders, we all bought sisig, (the pig face that you chop up and sizzle in a pan). I will cook this when I get home for anyone that wants!  We did so much this week that I can barely remember it all. But it was awesome. We achieved our goals. Which saying that outloud makes this missionary work sound like some business. Well it's the business of God. He is working time and I am so glad that I can be here working along side the Lord in this full time service.  ...

Week 99

Ang huling email ko, tapos na ang misyon ko duon sa filipinas, pero hindi pa sa aking buhay. Hello everyone! This one is a little late because I didn't have a phone Monday. This one will be my last week writing or second to last. I am Home! Already released as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On Sunday President and Sister Martinez came to our branch and I gave a last talk. They took us to Tacloban afterwards. Then I worked in Tacloban the rest of the day.  We did departing activities Monday then Tuesday we left to Manila. We were able to meet up with a past companion in Manila, Elder Valencia, or brother, and eat out with him in the Mall of Asia. Then Wednesday morning we woke up at 3:30 am and left to the airport and flew out to San Francisco, 13 hours, then after arriving in the US we had a 4 hour layover and said goodbye to all my batchmates, then another 5 ½ hours to Dulles Washington DC, then I saw my family!  I felt so sick and...

Week 92

Election day para sa mga candidato! Kinsa modaog? Ambot.   Hi family! And friends! I am stuck in the house right now. It's election day and to be safe we aren't allowed to leave the apartment. I've scrubbed my clothes and they are soaking now, I'll hang them to dry soon. I took a refreshing bucket shower this morning and then we ate some pancakes which I made. We had a meeting earlier about helping members and being diligent! I got a little video clip that hopefully you can watch about Joseph smith, "this should be our finest work.. nothing but the best for the Lord". I often wonder what I can do more or how I can increase my capacity to help others. One way I found is in Mosiah 2-4...all of his sermon is to teach people to do one thing.. "..that is, for the sake of retaining a remission of your sins from day to day, that ye may walk guiltless before God.." [Mosiah 4:26]. Achieving this is not a singular decision but rather a decision we have to make...
