Week 51
It's raining in Manila (and Bobon)
Maupay na kulop everybody! Just waiting here for a haircut. Then after we're gonna go home and clean the apartment. This morning we went to the beach for the first time in the sunlight. And it's actually a lot dirtier than I thought, but that's okay I'm never coming back in the day, just night.
We went to Trojillo this week and taught some people there, and are still trying to get their birth records ahhhhhh (so they can get married).
We also went on exchanges in Allen and San Isidro. It's been fun. We've been pretty productive this week and are still trying to improve. I was studying the Come Follow Me about Ammon and his friends converting a bunch of lamanites. The people truly were converted saying "they never did fall away". They didn't just join a group or church, or become better people, they were converted to Christ. It was a full change of heart to Him, becoming one with Jesus Christ (Becoming One with Christ, byElder Cook, a talk you can listen to ig). With that it isn't just a change of mind but actually has power in itself--the Power of Christ's Infinite Atonement. Through this we can truly be converted. Whether a member of the Church of Jesus Christ or not, conversion is a life long process that takes every daily effort. This why they never did fall away, because of the conversion to Jesus Christ. These were the worst people and they changed everything, as Elder Holland said, in the words of a non-doctrinal thought about Jesus Christ, "I want you to give Me your whole self, then I'll give you a new self, in fact, I'll Give You My Self".
In the meaning of these words I feel there is a true promise that Christ will give us Himself. In fact He loves us so much that He already has, whether we would except it and even knowing many people would not have anything to do with it.
He gave Himself to us that we may have eternal life, and all the blessings He has in store for us that we may escape our imperfect state to become as Him, one with Jesus Christ.
Love you guys, and hope you take every opportunity to be more converted to the Lord. He gave an infinite atonement for our infinite imperfections, so use His gift every day, especially to bless others! Salamat sa tanan, ngan hinay kamo sa buhaton ninyo! Pili sa Dios!
