Week 1 MTC
Hello Everybody my contact thing is broken so you're lucky if you got this email. It's also tricky because I gotta do this on my phone which is kinda annoying
. My plane ride here was awful, definitely don't recommend 20 hour flights. Hope y'all are comfortable in the US. Don't really know where I was going with that but it's been a good first week here away from home. I've had a lot of spiritual experiences and meet a bunch of goooofy guys. And some cool ones too. If you've read my brother's emails then I guess don't expect mine to be like his. Well actually I've never read any of his
so maybe they will be like them. I just liked looking at the pictures so I'll be sure to also send a bunch of those haha.
My companion is pretty shy but I know that I'm with him for a reason so I'm tryna be a really good companion to him and see if he'll open up a bit. I actually didn't think I'd want to write emails but it's kinda fun to be honest. I also wasn't sure if I ever be scared, but I've been chillen. The MTC is actually fun and it's definitely been fun to be away from home and start my own thang
. The food here is gasss. Except the times when it's not, ya know lol.
I feel like I should share somethin inspiring tho you know? I guess some I liked was something in this devotional we watched and he said "if we don't feel close to the Lord, WE moved". I thought that was a good point :)
This place is pretty hype though and it's fun to see the ops walking around with shotguns but also kinda scary because you gotta do what they tell ya. I bought these off brand kit kats that taste like Tim Tam bars so that was deliciousionimomoa, that's delicious in Cebuano by the way but everybody knows that probably.
I'm going to speak a little Cebuano for you too. Ang paagi nga nakapamulong inyong karon kadto aron nakautang siya walk siya kini mobangon bahandi paagi dili sa niini og sumala. So ya I'm practically fluent; it's not that hard to be honest. Oh ya also I found out that people don't really speak Cebuano in Tacloban they really just speak Waray-waray but they don't teach that at all and there's no Book of Mormon in that language and they don't even use the Cebuano Book of Mormon, they use the Tagalog version so I'mma have to know like 3 languages so ya, not so easy peezy lemon squeezy.
It's been fun living with others guys my age but also they're a little messier than I'm used to but it's still fun. This guy from Papua New Guinea said he raises and names his dogs and then kills them and eats them and then he said they sometimes grab their cooked paws and pretend that they're running

. We all busted out laughing when we heard that so thought y'all would like that too haha. It's weird too thinking about it that we're like in the future so I'll let y'all know when you get shot so I can tell you what time to duck or like the second coming so I can tell y'all to repent of everything really quick
. Anyways gotta go eat some dinner I'm hungryyyyy. Amping!!
